A New Day In America

January 25, 2009

I’m back on Cape Cod after a terrific trip to Sanibel Island, Florida. Even Realtors need a break from the winter weather! Just before leaving I completed the classroom portion of NAR’s new Green designation and I’m very excited about completing this and working with home buyers, sellers and builders to make green choices. I drive a Prius, and have for 5 years, and try to “walk the talk,” so if sustainability is important to you, as well as reducing heating and cooling costs, let’s work together on your real estate transaction. What does this designation entail? In the United States alone,
buildings account for:

• 70% of electricity
• 39% of all energy use
• 39% of all (CO2) emissions
• 40% of raw materials use
• 30% of waste output
(136 million tons annually)
• 12% of potable water

The Green REsource Council

Established by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the Green REsource Council serves real estate professionals by providing comprehensive training and access to cutting-edge resources and tools as well as promoting green excellence, leadership, and consumer awareness within and across multiple real estate disciplines. Practitioners who complete the 3-day program are awarded NAR’s Green Designation, the only green training program recognized by the NAR.

Welcome to 2009: From Today’s CNN Headlines

January 4, 2009

Today CNN opened with Clark Howard and “Buying Foreclosed Properties.” While the rate of foreclosures on the Cape has slowed, there are still a large number of “distressed” properties to be had. If this interests you, give me a call. You need patience above all else, but there are some amazing deal to be had.
