Thanks so much for using my post here. It’s great to think that it will help people who are actually going through the throes of moving house.

I really hope that they can turn it from a stressful situation into a fun and useful one.

If only we could all have a real estate agent like you to help out too. I did have a great one in New Zealand once who helped me hide my husband’s broken motorbike. We had to maneuver it down a very steep hill and the wheels wouldn’t even turn. Now that’s going beyond the call of duty:)

I think all agents should have choices. Our company, Green Real Estate Education, has offered our green certification for 4,500 in the last 24 months- for under $100. Charging over $400 is not necessary. We have not only taught members in 20+ boards and associations but also “green” educate mortgage professionals, home inspectors and all who assist agents in the practice of their profession. Our courses have state, and associations as well as ARELLO CE approvals. The company President and authors of the company series have real estate experience and our education was written by those having 400 or more transactions under their belt.

Mike, congratulations on the Ecobroker certification. Any education in this area is important. Looking at the ecobroker website, it seems that it has the same goals but is driven by the advertisers and “green” suppliers. I could not find the number of hours involved in the three components of training. The NAR course for Green is 24 hours of classroom training and two examinations. The Ecobroker is not endorsed by NAR.

The Cape is an environment-conscious locale, our ecosystems are frangile. There are two major LEEDS certified buildings, the IFAW headquarters and Wellflleet MA Audubon HQ. Hi, I am a PA realtor who completed the Ecobroker (now Ecoassociate) course in Dec 2008. See http://www.ecobroker.com. Are you familiar with the Ecobroker certification? If so, How is it different than the Green designation?

I would advise any Realtor to pursue the Green designation since it is promoted by the NAR. Lisa, is there a great demand for Green properties in Cape Cod. Philadelphia is coming around some. My broker is great (40 years exp.), but not really enthused about Green RE sales. Do you have any tips on how I might show him the benefits of Green listings?

Great post ! Generally it is very intresting kind of investment, but I think that real estate is loosing it's price too much. I own a site with prices for Moscow real estate listings and from the begining of this year it wasn't grew.... Anyway american real estate is more stabil in this case.
